Decor for the Meat-Lovin' Ron Swanson in Your Life

Today's post is inspired by two of my favorite men: my husband (identity never to be revealed) and Ron Swanson. Both are meat-loving and privacy-obsessed curmudgeons, and both have a secret soft side hidden under innumerable layers of bacon and eggs. Ron and my husband don't care much about material possessions, but if they'd let themselves go just a little, I know they'd love this.

1. comfy leather chair Every man (or woman) needs a leather chair in which to drink whiskey and whittle on quiet country evenings.

2. Eggs n' Bacon Pillow Ron probably doesn't approve of the use of pillows -- especially decorative pillows -- but I think he'd be willing to tolerate this one, as it pays homage to his favorite worldly things.

3. Fly Fishing Landing Net A useful tool for achieving the primary purpose of humanity: eating lesser creatures. When not in use, this net can serve as decoration on a wall to add rustic charm to any room (not that Ron cares).

4. Butcher Shop Art Your art should reflect what you love. This vintage photo celebrates Ron's favorite place to visit when he comes into town.

5. Unscented Candles While Ron might be hard as nails, Duke Silver appreciates the sexier things in life. Unscented candles are great for wooing Tammys without being too froo-froo.

6. Wool Blanket The perfect balance of utility for Ron and romance for Duke.

Footnote: I am in trouble with my husband for including the concept of him in this post... because he's just that private. Too bad!
